Preparatory (Tiptoes)

We recommend you follow these 3 phases to learning the grade...

Phase One.. Use the Preparatory video to copy us. Watch it until you feel confident that you could do it just with the music.

​

Phase Two.. Use the video but only for the music, scroll down the page and use the list of exercises and the prompts to aid your memory.

​

Phase Three.. Do it without looking at the video or the list of exercises - by this stage you should know which exercise is next, which foot you start with etc.

**When watching this video you need to make sure you are using the correct leg/arm and are travelling in the correct direction. When we use the right leg, you use the right leg etc.**

See below a list of the exercises you will need to know for the exam. Next to each, we have stated how the exercise starts. All exercises begin with hands on skirts.

Walking and Running (begin in your circle position, feet in parallel position, face the way your going to go)

Pony Gallops (begin in your circle position, feet in parallel position, face the way your going to go)

Move to your line to face the examiner

Pony Trots (begin facing the front, in a line in front of the examiner, feet in parallel position)

Pointe and Close (begin facing the front, in a line in front of the examiner, feet in first position)

Dancing Arms (begin facing the front, in a line in front of the examiner, feet in first position)

Little Jumps and Big Jumps (begin facing the front, in a line in front of the examiner, feet in first position)

Find your partner

Skips (begin facing the way your going to go, holding one of your partners hands and your skirt)

Take your partner to the corner

Sways and Gallops (begin in the corner facing your partner, holding both hands, pointe your foot to the side)

Move to your line to face the examiner

Dance (Bouncy Ball) (begin facing the front, in a line in front of the examiner, feet in first position)

Curtsey (begin facing the front, feet in first position)
