Watch your little ones grow into beautiful dancers in this fun and inspiring beginners class designed for maximum engagement. Our Tiptoes classes are well structured, friendly and inclusive for young dancers. We use a variety of props including scarfs, instruments, teddies and ribbons to help children learn the basic steps in an encouraging environment. We allow dancers to develop at their own pace, following the IDTA Preparatory syllabus and the EYFS framework for schools, to develop progression in dance as well as furthering communication and physical development skills. This class is great for stimulating children's imaginations and gives the opportunity to take exams and perform in shows when each child feels ready.

Our Demi-Pointe classes are well structured and interesting for young dancers of all abilities - from the complete beginner to the more experienced. We teach in a creative way to ensure the children have FUN whilst they further develop their ballet and tap technique. We plan a varied programme which changes slightly each week and use props to promote balance, good rhythm, and engagement. Children in this class work on the IDTA syllabus for Primary and Grade One ballet/tap, and are given the chance to take exams and perform in shows when they are ready. It is our mission to teach ballet and tap progression in an inclusive and engaging way for youngsters - come and check us out!

Our Demi-Second classes are ideal for young dancers to expand their ballet technique through the IDTA syllabus for Grade Two ballet and Grade One Tap. Our lessons are challenging yet FUN, to maintain engagement. We allow our young dancers to develop at their own pace, drawing on their natural ability to encourage potential and build confidence. This class is the perfect progression from Demi-Pointe, building on the basics of ballet and tap whilst using feel good songs and props to stimulate engagement and imagination. Dancers learn the exercises needed for exams through exciting themed dances which change half-termly. Children receive a certificate at the end of each half-term to celebrate their amazing progress and are given opportunities to perform in shows and take examinations.

Our Spring Pointe classes are ideal for older dancers working on the IDTA syllabus for Grade Three and Four ballet, but are also suitable for complete beginners! We work hard to differentiate our lessons so that no dancer is left behind, but each individual is adequately challenged. Whether taking exams, performing in shows or just joining us for fun, there's something in this class for everyone. Dancers learn exercises needed for exams through stimulating dances which change half-termly to keep up engagement. Dancers develop confidence, technique and performance skills needed to succeed both in dance and later life. If you're interested, be quick as places fill up fast!

Our Turning Pointe classes are exciting and fast-paced; great for more experienced dancers or for those who want to be challenged. We work on the IDTA syllabus for Grade Five and Intermediate ballet, offering our dancers the opportunities to take exams and perform in shows when they are ready. The dancers in this class use point work to further their technique and strengthen legs and feet. We plan a varied programme which changes slightly each week, including floor work, a chance to practice on the barre and allegro/corner work to increase flexibility and strength. This class increases confidence whilst learning new steps and inspires a lifetime love of dance.

streetdance Classes (from ages 5+)

THURSDAYS 5.45-6.15PM
AT ST. JOHNS, MOSLEY COMMON

An extremely popular class amongst girls and boys. This class is well structured and designed for maximum engagement to allow little ones of all abilities to learn the basics of streetdance. Following the structure of our older classes, each lesson begins with a FUN warm up followed by mini skills exercises which break down basic tutting (hand/arm movements) and intricate footwork. All of which are then combined into exciting dance which change half-termly. We encourage new friendships and help to build confidence with the option to take part in IDTA medal tests, shows and competitions if and when the child is ready. A Mini StarZ team compete annually in friendly competitions, the last one they took home a WIN!

The perfect progression from Mini StarZ, but also great for complete beginners, this is a very popular class for both boys and girls to develop musicality and confidence whilst learning dances to popular chart songs. Our FUN and energetic routines support children in building courage and performance skills to get them on stage in one of our many exciting opportunities. Dancers learn new skills in mini exercises which break down basic floor work, pop & lock hand/arm movements and intricate footwork, which are then combined into dances which change half-termly. Being in this class also gives the chance to take IDTA medal tests and perform in theatres across the UK. A Rising StarZ team compete annually in friendly competitions, the last one they took home a WIN!

Another very popular class for more experienced boys and girls to develop their budding streetdance technique through learning energetic routines to popular chart songs. StarZ is FUN and fast-moving - ideal for those who are ready to be challenged. Our focus is on performance enhancement and engagement, and giving young dancers the chance to take IDTA medal tests and perform in many different theatres across the country. We encourage teamwork and friendship amongst dancers and parents, to ensure new families are quickly welcomed into our D4F family. Being in this class also gives the chance to learn new styles in our bigger performances and annual dance camps - A fantastic class to be part of! The StarZ team are yet to be beaten at competition!

cheerleading Classes (from ages 7+)

AT ST. JOHNS, MOSLEY COMMON

Due to the immense popularity of our Senior team, D4F opened Heroes Juniors in January 2020 as a perfect introduction to the sport. This class promotes commitment and teamwork in a fun, non-competitive environment whilst working on basic cheer skills and flexibility to strengthen and tone. Dancers will learn the basics of stunting and tumbling, and perform cheers, chants and energetic routines half-termly to cover all elements of cheerleading. Heroes Juniors will be given opportunities to take IDTA examinations and showcase their talents in theatres, at schools or summer fairs. Dance4Fun likes to keep costs low so provide professional kits and subsidise BCA cheer camps annually. An already very popular class - don't miss out!

Our Heroes Seniors Cheerleading class is perfect for older dancers who want to promote physical fitness, teamwork and make lasting friendships whilst learning new skills. The team learn new drills and stunts each week and perform cheers, chants and energetic routines half-termly to cover all elements of cheerleading. Heroes Seniors are lucky enough to attend BCA cheer camps, take IDTA examinations and NEW for 2021, enter competitions with CheerDanceUK. They showcase their talents frequently in theatres, at schools and summer fairs. Being in this class increases self-confidence and resilience through accepting new challenges each week, whilst making friends for life. Cheerleading is one of the fastest growing UK sports - why not come and give it a try!
